CIRD has welcomed a number of volunteers to work with us as we seek to improve the lives of poor farmers, ethnic minority people and other marginalised groups in Vietnam.
Volunteers have worked in forestry, marketing, advocacy and other capacity building projects, and also help us to improve our English skills. We have worked with the Australian Government Volunteer Program for several years, however we also welcome enquiries from other nationalities.
We believe volunteering with CIRD also provides the volunteers with a valuable opportunity to learn from us. We are a small yet highly effective organisation with strong ties to communities. We value local knowledge and work with many diverse ethnic minority communities on a range of projects.
Volunteers have enjoyed working at CIRD and living in the friendly and peaceful community of Dong Le town in Quang Binh province. Few foreigners have the opportunity to work here and although English is limited you will feel very welcome.
Quang Binh province is proud to have the UNESCO listed Phong Nha Ke Bang National Park and caves which bring visitors from across the world to see the beautiful caves. See here or reviews by Lonely Planet here.
